New York City’s Street Fairs, Festivals and Block Parties

Summer is beginning and, in New York City, that means the beginning of street fair and festival season!

New York City offers an endless number of street fairs and festival this year. Each has their own feel, flavor and vibe. They range from New York City’s version of garage sales and collections of street vendors to block parties and full blown festivals celebrating one thing or another.

There are almost always live music and street performers, food vendors, homemade crafts, books, vintage items, antiques, toys from when you were a kid, odds and ends and everything in between to be found at the street fairs and festivals.

The street fairs and festivals usually run from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, weather permitting. The streets are closed off to vehicular traffic and pedestrians rule the block for the day.
