Celebrate July 4th in America’s Most Iconic City
July 4th in the United States means fireworks and parties and there is no better place to be for this than in America’s most iconic city – New York City!

July 4th is one of the biggest holidays in the United States and people all over the country celebrate with parties, parades and, most of all, fireworks.
The Macy’s Fourth of July firework display in New York City is the largest one in the country. There will be over 40,000 firework shells shot out at a rate of over 1500 per minute and at heights of over 1000 feet in the air.
This year’s theme is ‘Ignite the Night’ and the fireworks will be choreographed to a medley of American music including pop and patriotic songs. The music will be synced with the fireworks for an impressive and moving display.

The fireworks display can be seen from just about anywhere in the city that has an unobstructed view of the sky. For the best views, head to the West Side Highway and 12th Avenue between 14rd and 59th Streets. This area will be blocked off to vehicular traffic for the evening.
The fireworks will be launched from six barges on the Hudson River between 18th and 48th Streets.
The fireworks display will begin about 9:20 pm. The viewing areas will get very crowded quickly so if you plan to make an evening out if it, head out early to find a good spot. Bring a blanket, chairs, food, water and anything else you need for the night.
The fireworks show is about half an hour long but the party will last all night long. The West Side Highway turns into a huge block party where you can celebrate America’s Independence Day into the wee hours of the morning.
