New York City’s Festive Holiday Markets

New York City’s holiday markets are a great way to spend a couple of hours. There are always plenty of unique items, handmade jewelry, clothing and local crafts to browse. They are also a great place to buy gifts for others…and yourself!

Grand Central Terminal

The Grand Central Terminal Holiday Fair gets underway on November 14, 2011 and runs through December 24, 2011.

Grand Central Terminal is one of New York City’s most beautiful buildings and the Holiday Fair is a great opportunity to walk around and tour this train station.

Monday through Saturday: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
Sunday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
Closed Thanksgiving Day (November 24)
Christmas Eve (December 24): 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Union Square Park

The 18th annual Union Square Holiday Market runs from November 18, 2011 to December 24. 2011.

There will be more than 100 vendors and merchants with unique items including items made from recycled materials, merchandise from Tibet and handmade jewelry.

Columbus Circle

The Columbus Circle Holiday Market is put on by the same people who run the Union Square Holiday Market. You can find all kinds of unique gifts in both holiday markets.

Columbus Circle is located on the southwest corner of Central Park.

The Columbus Circle Holiday Market opens November 30, 2011 and runs through December 24, 2011.

Bryant Park

The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park are a festive way to spend time while in New York City. The Holiday Shops are actually an open air market with items from all over the world for sale. You can see a list of the shops and what each one is selling here.

After you visit The Holiday shops, take a walk around Bryant Park. It’s one of New York City’s best parks!

Monday through Friday: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
Sunday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park are open through January 8, 2012

Brooklyn Flea

For those who are more interested in not-so-holiday shopping, check out Brooklyn Flea’s Winter Flea. It features vintage wares, handmade items and yummy food.

Starting November 26, 2011 through March 21, 2012, The Winter Flea will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
