Miami Beaches
Miami beaches are some of the best in world and the city’s great weather makes outdoor fun possible throughout the year, whether you are out for exercise, water sports, or just some relaxation in the sun. Here are a few of the best beaches in Miami, Florida.

South Beach
South Beach is Miami’s most popular beach, and one of the most famous in the world. Located from 1st Street – 12th Street along Ocean Drive, the beach is a stone throw away from the top Miami Beach nightclubs and is the place to go for crowds and a good time. The Jazz on South Beach Hostel is located just a block away!
Virginia Key Beach
Virginia Beach is split into North and South along Rickenbacker Causeway. Less crowded than South Beach, the area has plenty of shade for people looking for a break from the sun. Shops on the North side have rentals for windsurfing, kite boarding, and other water sports, while the South side offers hiking trails and a bird sanctuary.
Virginia Key Beach is also one of the few beaches that allows dogs (must be leashed). Animal lovers can also stop by the nearby Seaquarium after hitting the beach. Looking for something secluded? Try driving all the way to the end of the ‘Point’.

Haulover Beach
Haulover Beach is home to Miami’s only officially sanctioned nude beach. Located near 10800 Collins Avenue between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach, the northern half-mile of beach is designated as clothing optional. There is also a mile of regular beach for those looking for something more traditional, like thongs and bikinis.
The beach has a nice picnic area with barbecue sets (fee) and shade (free). Other activities include tennis, golf, and kite flying.
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park
Located at 1200 S. Crandon Boulevard on the south side of the island of Key Biscayne, Bill Baggs State Park has one of the top ten beaches in the United States. The mile long beach offers swimming and snorkeling, while boat rides and canoe/kayak rentals are available from shops along the seawall. Other activities include onshore fishing, cycling, and hiking, and picnic facilities are available in park. Bill Baggs is also home to Cape Florida Light, an historic lighthouse and Miami’s oldest standing structure.
Hobie Beach – Windsurfer Beach
Hobie Beach is located on the island of Key Biscayne. One of the few places where beach goers can bring their dogs, the beach also has a variety of weter sport rentals and a secluded inlet for windsurfing.
Crandon Park Beach
Crandon Park Beach is located in Crandon Park on the north side of the island of Key Biscayne. The 3-mile beach and surrounding park provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Florida sun. In addition to spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, visitors can enjoy the marina, tennis center, golf course, picnic facilities, and an amusement center. There is also a nature preserve that offer guided tours.
Bal Harbour Beach
Bal Harbour Beach is located along Collins Avenue in Bal Harbour. Palm trees cast a shade along a path that follows the beach, making the area a great place for a walk or jog. Fishing is allowed off a jetty on the north side of the beach.
