New York City Dance Parade

New York City has all kinds of parades, but this just might be the most fun one yet!

New York City’s Dance Parade is a really fun (and free!) event. There will be more than ten thousand dancers in the parade and more than 75 different kinds of dances, including many different ethnic dances. The parade also includes floats and lots of music.

Spectators can expect to see a wide range of dances from traditional to contemporary including: African, Korean, Bolivian, samba, swing, hula, salsa, tango, waltz, techno, disco and more! Those watching the parade are encourage to dance along on the sidelines.

The 6th annual Dance Parade will be help on May 19, 2012. It will start at 1:00 pm at 22nd St and 21st St between Park and Fifth Avenue and ends at Tompkins Square Park. You can see a map of the parade route here.

When the parade is over, head to Tompkins Square Park where there will be free dance performances, workshops and dance parties.
