On Tuesday, thousands of music fans gathered at Apollo Theater in Harlem to pay tribute to Michael Jackson.

The Apollo Theater helped launch Michael Jackson’s career in 1967 when the Jackson Five won the Apollo Theater’s amateur night contest.

The popularity of Michael Jackson’s music has never been matched by any other artist in history.  Thriller is still the World’s best-selling album with over 100 million copies sold — more than twice as many copies as any other recording.
