There are many ways to get to Jazz Hostels from any airport in the area:

• Airlink airport shuttle service.  Approximately $20 USD. Click here to reserve a van.

• Yellow Taxis. From the airports to Jazz Hostels, the fare is between $40 – 45 USD, plus tolls and tips.

• Public Transportation. For all subways and buses, the fare is $2.00 USD.  For buses, you will need exact coins – the buses do not take dollar bills.  See below for direction.

From John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport:

Take the AirTrain from JFK to the 'A' subway line.  Take the ‘A’ going towards Uptown/Manhattan.  At Columbus Circle (59th Street), transfer from 'A' to 'B' or 'C' subway (going Uptown). Exit at 103rd Street and make a quick left to go to the corner (Central Park West). Turn LEFT and walk NORTH on Central Park West to 106th Street.  Turn left onto 106th Street- you will see the hostel on the left.

From La Guardia (LGA) Airport:

Take the M60 Bus to 106th Street and Broadway.  Walk 3 blocks EAST on 106th Street, pass Manhattan Avenue and you will see the hostel on your right.

From Newark (EWR) Airport:

Take the AirTrain to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station (NLIAT).  At NLIAT, take a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak train to New York Penn Station.  Take the ‘C’ going Uptown.  Exit at 103rd Street and make a quick left to go to the corner (Central Park West).  Turn LEFT and walk NORTH on Central Park West to 106th Street.  Turn left onto 106th Street- you will see the hostel on the left.

From Port Authority (Greyhound) Station:

Follow signs for the ‘C’ subway.  Take the 'C' going Uptown. 

Exit at 103rd Street and make a quick left to go to the corner (Central Park West).  Turn LEFT and walk NORTH on Central Park West to 106th Street.  Turn left onto 106th Street- you will see the hostel on the left.

Take the AirTrain from JFK to the 'A' subway line.  Take the ‘A’ going towards Uptown/Manhattan.  At the Broadway Junction Station, transfer from the 'A' to the 'L' subway going towards Manhattan.  Exit the subway at 1st Avenue.  Walk one block WEST towards 2nd Avenue.  You will see the hostel on the right.

 

From La Guardia (LGA) Airport:

Take the M60 Bus to Astoria Blvd (in Queens).  Go up the stairs to the subway and take the ‘N’ subway towards Manhattan.  At Union Square/14th Street, transfer from the ‘N’ to the ‘L’ subway going towards Brooklyn.  Take the 'L' to 3rd Avenue (1 stop).  Walk one block EAST to 2nd Avenue, cross the street and the hostel will be on your left.

 

From Newark (EWR) Airport:

Take the $10 Olympia Bus to Grand Central Station.  Take the ‘4’ subway going Downtown.  At Union Square/14th Street, transfer to the ‘L’ subway.  Take the 'L' 1 stop to 3rd Avenue.  Walk one block EAST to 2nd Avenue, cross the street and the hostel will be on your left.

 

From Port Authority (Greyhound) Station:

Follow signs for the ‘A’, ‘C’ or ‘E’ subway lines.  Take any train going Downtown.  At 14th Street, transfer to the ‘L’ subway going towards Brooklyn. Take the 'L' to 3rd Avenue.  Walk one block EAST to 2nd Avenue, cross the street and the hostel will be on your left.

Take AirTrain to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station (NLIAT).  At NLIAT, take a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak train to New York Penn Station.  At Penn Station take the ‘2’ or ‘3’ subway going Uptown.  Exit at 125th Street and walk NORTH to 129th Street.  Turn RIGHT onto 129 Street and walk ¾ of the block- you will see the hostel on your right.

Exit the bus terminal and walk EAST on 42nd Street towards 7th Avenue/Broadway.  Enter the subway station at 7th Avenue and take the ‘2’ or ‘3’ subway going Uptown.  Exit at 125th Street and walk NORTH to 129th Street.  Turn RIGHT onto 129th Street and walk ¾ of the block - you will see the hostel on your right.

Exit the station (at 50th Street and 8th Avenue) and walk NORTH 1 block to 51st Street. Make a LEFT and walk down 51st Street past the restaurants. The hostel will be on your right.

From La Guardia (LGA) Airport:

Take the M60 Bus to towards Morningside Heights, Manhattan. Exit at Hoyt Avenue and 31st Street (in Queens). Take the N train from Astoria Boulevard Station (walk up the stairs to the above-ground station) in the direction of “Downtown/Coney Island.” Exit at 49th Street in Manhattan and walk NORTH 2 blocks to 51st Street. Turn LEFT and keep walking past 8th Avenue about halfway down the block. The hostel will be on your right after the restaurants.

From Newark (EWR) Airport:

Take the AirTrain to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station (NLIAT). At NLIAT, take a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak train to New York Penn Station. Take the ‘C’ going Uptown. From Miami International Airport:

Take the 150 bus line (Airport Beach Flyer) for $2.35 from the lower level.  Take the bus into Miami (about 35 minutes) and transfer at Washington Ave and 16th St to the South Beach Local bus ($0.25). Exit at the Washington Ave and 4th Street stop. Walk one block EAST (towards the beach) to Collins Avenue. Walk one block south to 321 Collins Ave.  You will see the hostel in front of you across the street. 

OR

Take the ‘J’ bus to 41st Street and Sheridan Avenue. Transfer to ‘H’ bus.  Exit at 3rd Street and Washington Avenue.  Cross the street and walk EAST (towards the beach) to Collins Avenue.  The hostel will be directly across the street on Collins Avenue.

From Miami Amtrak Train Station:

Take the ‘L’ bus to Lincoln Road.  Transfer to the Electrowave shuttle bus (25 cents) going SOUTH.  Tell the driver you want to exit at 3rd Street and Washington Ave.  Cross the street and walk EAST 1 block to Collins Avenue.  You will see the hostel across the street. 

From Miami Greyhound Bus Station at 36 NE 10th Street:

Walk about 2 blocks to NE 2nd Ave and take the ‘K’ bus. The bus often says 'Diplomat' or 'Haulover' on the front.  Take the ‘K’ bus to South Beach and exit at 5th Street and Washington Avenue.  Cross the street and walk EAST 1 block to Collins Avenue.  Walk SOUTH past 3rd Street and you will see the hostel on your LEFT. 

From Miami Greyhound Bus Station at 4111 NW 27th Street:

Walk one block WEST to Le Jeune Road (27th Street and 42nd Avenue).  Take the bus marked 'J BEACH.’  At 41st and Sheridan Avenue transfer to the ‘C’ bus. Exit at 5th Street and Washington Avenue.  Walk SOUTH to 4th Street and Collins Ave. You will see the hostel across the street.

By Car:

Take I-95 South to 395 East (over the bay on the MacArthur Causeway).  The ramp will take you to 5th Street, continue for ½ mile to Collins Avenue and take a RIGHT.  Pass 4th St.- the hostel will be on your LEFT.

Take L’Aerobus Shuttle (every half hour, $14 CAD each way) to the Central Bus Station. Exit station on Rue Berri and walk one block WEST to rue St-Denis. Turn RIGHT on St-Denis and walk up 2 blocks to rue Ontario Est. Turn LEFT and the hostel will be on your RIGHT. 

From the Central Bus Station:

Exit station on Rue Berri and walk one block WEST to rue St-Denis. Turn RIGHT on St-Denis and walk up 2 blocks to rue Ontario Est. Turn LEFT and the hostel will be on your RIGHT. 

From the Metro:

Take the Orange, Yellow, or Green line to the Berri-UQAM station. Exit on Rue Berri and walk one block WEST to rue St-Denis. Turn RIGHT on St-Denis and walk up 2 blocks to rue Ontario Est. Turn LEFT and the hostel will be on your RIGHT.
