Discover New Foods
One of the best things about traveling is being able to try new kinds of food. It doesn’t matter if it’s something as simple as a sandwich, food almost always tastes different when you’re in a new city or country.
To really experience a new place, you have to use all your senses – sight, smell, feel, hearing and taste. Eating the local cuisine is the only way to connect to the local culture through taste.

A great way to get an idea about the best places to eat in a new place is to go where the locals go.
Websites like Yelp and Chowhound are a good way to see reviews of local restaurants. Another great way to find out where locals are eating is to ask the people working in your hostel or hotel. They usually are very knowledgeable about where to find great local food and flavors.
Street food is also a good way to get a good sample of the local flavor. In New York City, hot dogs and pretzels from street venders just taste better than the hot dogs and pretzels you can find at home. It’s the experience of it all.

Another great way to find good food is to find out about the local food trucks. A lot of the major cities in the United States have them.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to new food is to have an open mind. Try everything – give everything that is new and different at least one bite. You never know, you might discover your new favorite food!
