The Japanese travel agency Unagi Travel only books travel for one kind of client – stuffed animals.
For a fraction of the cost of sending yourself, your can send your stuffed animal to see Japan. Living vicariously through your stuffed animal is the second best thing to actually being there yourself!

You can send your beloved stuffed animal a handful of different tours.
If you’d like them to see a historic temple, shrine, and the great Buddha statue, send them on the Kamakoura tour.
The Tokyo tour includes a visit to Historic Asakusa, Meiji Jingu Shrine and a trip to the top of Tokyo Tower.
If you’d like your friend to visit a Japanese hot spring, the Onsen tour is the trip for them.

In the Relay for Life tour, your furry friend will spend one day at the the charity event Relay for Life and one day sightseeing. Half of the cost of the tour will be donated to Relay for Life and half will cover the one day tour.
If your stuffed animal likes surprises, book them on the Mystery tour. The Mystery tour is held somewhere in or around Tokyo but the exact location will be kept a surprise until the last minute.

The cost of each trip is between $35 and $55 US dollars and stuffed animals from all over the world are welcome.
This all might seem a little silly, but it’s a great and inexpensive way to have a personal experience of Japan without ever leaving home. Maybe you are someone you know isn’t able to travel for financial, health or other reasons. Sending a beloved stuffed animal in your or your loved one’s place could be a great gift.

To send your furry friend on a Unagi tour, mail them to Toyko. The return shipping is free. Tours include a handwritten post card sent to you from your stuffed animal friend, a commemorative photograph (printed), and a CD with the photo file on it as well as photos of the tour posted to the Unagi Facebook page.
