It’s officially summer – time to hit the beach for summer fun activities! Montreal has some great beaches and pools to hang out at this summer. Whether you’re looking to cool off, soak in the sun, have a picnic, play volleyball or build a sand castle, Montreal has the spot for you!
Cap-Saint-Jacques Outdoor Centre
Cap-Saint-Jacques Nature Park is Montreal’s largest park. Its natural sand beach is at the shores of Deux Montagnes Lake. In addition to all kinds of beach fun, the park offers canoe and kayak rental, picnic area, peddle boats, snack bar and an organic farm. Admission is under $5.
Plage du Parc Jean-Drapeau
The beach at Parc Jean-Drapeau is conveniently located near downtown Montréal and is easily accessible by public transportation. This popular beach is known for its clean water quality and is open from June 19th to August 22nd.
There is also the Aquatic Complex at Parc Jean-Drapeau where there are 3 swimming pools, all heated to 26º C (78.8º F). The pools include a lane-swim pool for those who want to get some laps in, as well as a a diving pool to show off your cannon balls and swan dives.
Bois-de-L’Ile Bizard Nature Park
Bois-de-L’Ile Bizard Nature Park is located on a small island off northwest Montreal. The nature park has a natural sand beach located in a small bay of Lac des Deux Montagnes. In addition to swimming and soaking in the sun, visitors can enjoy canoeing in the lake. Picnics and barbecues are allowed and there is food service in the park.
Olympic Park
Olympic Park was built for the 1976 Olympic Games and was opened to the public for use soon after the games ended. This summer there are two pools available for open swim as well as a diving pool. Click here for information on Olympic Park’s open swim schedule.
Super Aqua Club
What better place to splash around and have summer fun in than a water park! Quebec’s largest water park Super Aqua Club is located in Pointe-Calumet, about 30 minutes northwest of Montreal. It has over 40 attractions including a beaches, wavepools, waterslides of all shapes sizes, ziplines and more. Super Aqua Club is accessible by public transportation.
