This November, Montreal is calling all cupcake lovers to the cupcake event of the year – the 2nd annual Cupcake Camp!
This is not a dream, cupcake lovers, but a real event that celebrates that heavenly treat, The Cupcake.
Cupcake Camp is a cupcake competition, cupcake sale and fundraiser. Cupcakes are donated by professional and amateur bakers alike including individuals, bakeries and companies.
Cupcake Camp is open to the public and more than 7000 cupcakes are expected to be donated. All cupcakes will be for sale by donation. There is a suggested donation of $10 to get into the event, which includes 3 cupcakes and coffee.
If you’ve ever needed an excuse to eat cupcakes, here is a great one: 100% proceeds from the sale of cupcakes goes to charities. This year’s charities are: Kids Help Phone which is offers youth counseling services and La Tablée des Chefs, a non-profit organization which, among other things, works with Quebec food banks and teaches culinary skills to the underprivileged.
Anyone can enter the competition and donate cupcakes. Bakers are required to enter 6 cupcakes for judging and a minimum of 24 cupcakes for donation to the bakesale. If you would like to enter this year’s Cupcake Camp competition, information on rules and registration can be found on their website.
