Every Saturday starting June 14 through August 12, Montréal will be filled with the lights and sounds of the biggest pyrotechnic competition of its kind – L’International Des Deux Loto-Quebec or Montréal’s International Fireworks Competition.
Each week teams from different countries put on spectacular fireworks displays choreographed to music and lasting a minimum of 30 minutes.
This year’s lineup includes teams from Italy, Taiwan, Portugal, Sweden, France, United States, Canada and Poland.
The fireworks displays will be launched from LaRonde Six Flags Amusement Park. For a close up seat of the competition, you can purchase tickets to the weekly events at the L’International Des Deux Loto-Quebec online box office.
There are also some great places around the city to view the shows for free. A popular viewing area is along the river south of the Papineau metro station. The Jacques Cartier Bridge is also a great place to watch the fireworks. The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic during the fireworks.
The weekly shows begin at 10:00 pm.
L’International Des Deux Loto-Quebec is one of the City’s biggest events of the year. For more information, visit their website.
