Here are a few good travel guide books that are geared toward the budget traveler.
Lonely Planet
Lonely Planet’s budget travel roots started more than 30 years ago. Over the years they have published travel guides for destinations all over the world and in many different languages. Many of their guides are available in paperback or digital format.
Rough Guides
Rough Guides have been around for nearly 30 years as well, establishing themselves as one of the most popular budget travel guide books. Like Lonely Plant, Rough Guides publish guidebooks for destinations all over the world and in many languages.
Frommer’s
Frommer’s isn’t as dedicated to budget travel as Lonely Plant and Rough Guides. However, they do publish as Free and Dirt Cheap series of guides, such as Frommer’s NYC Free & Dirt Cheap. The information is mostly about things to do, places to eat and general exploring.
