Visitors can also tour the Villa and its grounds during the day from 9:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m daily.
Villa Vizcaya itself is an impressive example of Miami’s beautiful and diverse architecture. Built in the early 1900s, Vizcaya has the look and feeling of a 16th century Italian palace. Its 34 rooms are decorated with antiques from as far back as the 1400s.
It was built by industrial magnate James Deering as his winter home. Daytime guided tours offer visitors interesting stories into his extravagant home as well as the man himself.
Vizcaya also hosts a variety of other interesting evening events such as movie screenings, lectures and special performances.
Fun fact: Vizcaya has been in quite a few movies including: Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Tony Rome and Bad Boys II.
