Welcome to Harlem!

Harlem is one of New York City’s most vibrant communities and neighborhoods. It is known around the world for its rich African-American culture, history and music.

There are so many things to do, see and taste in Harlem that it can be helpful to have a someone guide you through its highlights.

Welcome to Harlem Tours is based in Harlem and all of their tours are led by people who either grew up in Harlem or live there now.

Welcome to Harlem currently offers the following tours:

Gospel and Brunch Tour

Experience the foot stomping, hand clapping, soulful rhythms of Harlem on a Sunday morning with the Gospel and Brunch Tour. This tour is an uplifting way to spend a Sunday morning. It starts out with a tour of churches in Harlem’s historical Mount Morris Park district and ends with some of Harlem’s best cuisine.

Harlem Shopping Tour with Lunch

If you’re looking for a bargain, the Harlem Shopping tour with Lunch is for you! This tour will guide you through the best places to find African wood carvings, art, clothing and more.

Harlem Soul Food & Jazz Tour

If there is one thing that Harlem is known for, it is its rich history of jazz music. Many famous musicians and performers started out in the jazz clubs of Harlem. The Harlem Soul Food & Jazz Tour starts off with an authentic soul food dinner then takes you through some amazing jazz clubs to experience the soulful sounds and history of Harlem.

Walking Tour of Mount Morris Park Historic District

The Mount Morris Park Historic District is home to beautiful 19th and 20th century homes and churches. There are some sections of this area that are unaltered streetscapes, which is not a common thing to see in New York City. This tour is a great way to learn about the history of this area. This tour also includes lunch at a Harlem restaurant.

Harlem Jazz Concert Series

Experience the wonderful sounds of jazz in an intimate setting. The Harlem Jazz Concert Series offers performances by amazing jazz musicians held in a private brownstone with hors d’oeuvre, wine and dessert served. It’s a real house party!
